Put her on paid leave

Put her on paid leave
It’s nice to see that the Wynantskill Board of Education is hiring an investigator to look into all the allegations and concerns from the teachers and parents regarding the superintendent. But what I would like to know is why they aren’t putting the superintendent on paid administrative leave while the investigation is taking place. It seems like the proper next step and that is what needs to happen.

  1. It is interesting that this process seems to be skipping that step! I do believe that while an investigation is on-going, the accused is usually NOT performing their duties (which is NOT unusual for Dr. Henkel--which my be why she is able to still be in the building)! This, too, makes one go hmmmm....

  2. The Board is not doing what they should have done. Henkel needs to be OUT of the school on paid leave. Why is the teacher out on paid leave? They BOTH have CHARGES against them now, so they both should be treated the same. Just because Henkel has all the power to push people around for over a year, and get away with it so far, the Board again thinks they know best, don't trust her. Don't let Henkel run the show, it's embarrassing to the whole community of Wynantskill.
